Nepal SGI “Future Division Activity”

This winter, Nepal SGI formed the Winter Wisdom team: 12 members made up of all four divisions organized “Winter Wisdom” for our  future division members. In the year – 2020 “Year of Advancement and Capable People”, this initiative is taken as a step forward in fostering future successors for worldwide Kosenrufu in Nepal. The participants ageing 3-9 and 10-16 are named cubs and young lions respectively. Altogether 22 cubs and 18 young lions participated as the Winter Wisdom program was kicked off on January 5, 2020.” Winter Wisdom” aims to bring children closer to an understanding of their purpose and mission in this world and fostering them into capable successors for Kosenrufu by sowing wisdom and compassion. Wholehearted and enthusiastic support from parents and participants alike was unmistakable.

A carefully planned 14 days program resulted in lots of fun and learning lessons. The program consisted of three sessions :

  1. Prayer and Yoga
  2. Learning and Fun
  3. Experiential life learning lessons.

Each day, the children began the day with their closed palms to chant, followed by stretching their legs and body in different postures of yoga. They were exposed to different activities that were designed to enable them to get out of their comfort zone, besides they had ample opportunities to play, explore, relax and build ties with new friends. All cubs and young lions were able to create a pleasing memory to share with their school friends whom they will meet after winter vacation at school.

On the 7th day of the program, parents were also invited to participate and take part in different activities together with their children. The parents expressed joy as they joyfully took part in playing “Old is gold” games and other activities. Old games like marbles brought back the parents childhood memories. One of the parents said that he wished that he could play more of these old games with his child. The emotional interactions between parents and children were full of fun for both parent and child. A learning debate “Mobile is a boon or bane” was another great attraction on that day.

The closing ceremony of winter wisdom was attended by parents and members of Nepal SGI on January 18, 2020. A total of 130 people joyfully attended the ceremony where our future division member’s hard work was showered with praise and appreciation.. The program came to a close reminding everyone of the “Mero Mission” event which is scheduled for March 29 – April 11.
